We fell in love with this beautiful and authentic 19th century stone house, with its charm that has remained intact.
After two years of work we have been delighted to open our door wide and welcome the first guests to this soulful house that we have renovated with passion and authenticity.
La Nuit & Le Jour Guest House is located in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards in this beautiful village in the Médoc, Vertheuil.
The House surrounded by green settings and a wooded park is nestled between land and sea… minutes away from Saint-Estèphe and from the Gironde estuary ideally situated at thirty kilometers from the ocean and an hour from Bordeaux.
In the evening we suggest you to stroll in the park or read a book in the living room by the fireplace, a glass of wine in your hand. When the night will come you will be pleased to sleep in one of the three large bedrooms that offers the house.
In the morning enjoy a hearty breakfast in the shade of the lime trees before exploring the wine route and many local delights… then maybe contemplating the sunset by the Atlantic Ocean by the end of the day!
We will do our very best to make your stay here at La Nuit & Le Jour as enjoyable as possible. We want our guests to feel welcomed as if they were staying in a friends house. Conviviality, simplicity and French « Art de Vivre » are the key words…
Bookings are open. See you soon at home!
We welcome you to our three cosy and comfortable rooms, all facing the garden. Each one has its own personality, carefully decorated while maintaining the spirit of the original room.
The price is 125 € per night, including breakfast and taxes.
The atmosphere is hushed and soft, warmed by the wood of the old parquet floors and furniture, the velvet of its small lounge...
The sunny aura of this room comes from the warm light and the earthy nuances of its original terracotta tiles...
This room’s floral wallpaper is a nod to the original tapestry found on our walls, as an echo to the past, but also plays with the garden towards which this room is resolutely turned...
We are committed to working with local producers, sharing the fruits of our garden, choosing fresh seasonal produce and home cooking.
Every day we prepare a generous, healthy and varied buffet, to be enjoyed in beautiful vintage crockery on the sunny terrace…
We make it a point of honour to work with local producers, to share the fruits of our garden, to choose fresh and seasonal products, to cook at home.
Breakfasts and soon boards and bistro portions to be eaten in house or preparation of picnic baskets to be taken away on a walk…
La Nuit & Le Jour is available for intimate weddings, as well as private exclusive hire for family or friends parties, business meetings, lectures, workshops and team buildings. All on a small scale with attention to the more details.
Audrey is in charge with the communication events set design and decoration.

In 2019, we have been renovating this authentic stone house by ourselves.
We bought it because it had remained intact, as if the time has stopped with all its history still present.
This house is a kind of heritage that was entrusted to us, filled with its 19th and 20th century archives and its original furniture.
A place that is embodied and not sanitized by standard, charmless renovations.
We did not try to make it perfect but to sublimate it and give it back its letters of nobility.
We reused much of its furniture and crockery, and we tried to keep as much of the original flooring as possible.
The woodwork has been kept intact and renovated, with the exception of the bedroom windows, which have been redone almost identically by a carpenter from the neighbouring village.
The stone walls have been restored with a traditional lime plaster.
The electrical system has been redesigned with particular attention to the choice of sockets and switches, in old-fashioned Bakelite.
Central heating was installed via a copper network and modern radiators with a classical design.
Many elements are second hands, such as the 1930s bathroom sinks, lightings and other decorative accessories.
Some of the walls of the house have been preserved in their original state, with the charm of patina and time.
Our wish is to preserve the soul of the place while bringing a contemporary touch, mixing past and present.
To find out more about the history of the house and our projects, we invite you to listen to our interview by Maison Conquête and read the Inside Closet article.
